Shoppers in the Japanese city of Osaka received a tantalizing treat when the luxury Hankyu Umeda department store played host to the Swarovski Sparkling Secrets brand heritage exhibition. From November 27–December 9, visitors enjoyed a visually sensational overview of Swarovski’s 118-year history via stunning crystal installations, displays of glamorous historical crystal artefacts, and intriguing stories. Having enjoyed a rapturous reception in Shanghai and Seoul in 2012, it was Osaka’s turn to be wowed in 2013.
Among the highlights of the exhibition was the Crystal Tunnel, where 600 Swarovski Crystal Curtains illuminated by LEDs created a dynamic interplay of light along a crystal pathway to the breathtaking Crystal Maze. The Hall of Fame proved an equally big hit, exhibiting some of Swarovski’s most iconic items, including boots made with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS that were worn by Lady Gaga, plus a stunning outfit modeled by Miranda Kerr at the Victoria’s Secret 2012 Fashion Show. The Hall of Fashion boasted historically significant garments from the world’s greatest fashion legends, while the Paris-based atelier of Swarovski’s Creative Director Nathalie Colin was recreated in the Creative Lab. The Sparkling Treasures room yielded beautiful, mysteriously lit works of art, and the secret within the Nirvana Room caught everyone by surprise.
Judging from the reaction, they’ll be talking about Swarovski Sparkling Secrets in Osaka for a while to come.
