A mesmerizing event took place on November 21, 2012, in Riyadh. Swarovski’s first-ever collaboration with the Saudi capital’s luxury department store, Harvey Nichols, was launched in considerable style by HRH Reema Bandar Al Saud with an unveiling of the store façade and a dazzling evening gala.
Guests gathered for an opulent gala to celebrate the unveiling of a unique collection from exciting international and leading-edge Saudi designers. Exquisite prêt-a-porter looks, fabulous couture gowns, ornately embellished traditional garments, unique cosmetic products from Givenchy, Lancôme and Swarovski, handcrafted jewelry, gorgeous accessories, and debonair menswear sparkle with crystals against a stunning backdrop of specially commissioned concept artwork featuring abstract flying birds. Creating more than a ripple of head-turning excitement are seven pairs of spectacular shoes from the ‘Sparkling Contrasts’ footwear collection. Handmade by world-famous shoe designers Rupert Sanderson, René Caovilla, Ruthie Davis, Repetto, Gio Diev, Alejandro Ingelmo, they are sculptural, shimmering and glinting with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS under dramatic lighting.
Alongside the prestigious roll-call of leading lights from the global fashion arena are some of Saudi’s emerging designers including Moushi, Reem Kanhal, NOA, Asudari, Toby By Hatem akeel, Jabra, Al Roden, Loomer, Omar Azure, Mondi, and Al Qadem.
After last year’s extravaganzas at Beverley Hills’ high-end-and-hip Rodeo Drive and London’s Harrods, the latest SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS’ retail pair-up is an equally mind-blowing and opulent event. The good news is that it’s on until December 21, so residents and visitors have a few weeks left to make sure they don’t miss it!
