INTERVIEW

Five years on, she has also created costumes for Prince Caspian; jewelry for model-actor Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon; a corset woven in silver for Vogue Italia; and jewelry designs that were used in a shoot with Kate Moss for UK magazine, Love. Most of her current pieces are one-off commissions for jewelry, headbands and hair accessories, all of which bear the hallmark of her totally innovative and unique wire-working technique.

She’s also working on her own range of jewelry using SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, including a full-body jewelry piece that incorporates crystals. “It’s head-to-toe sterling silver, SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, glass beads, semi-precious stones and leather. I’m creating this piece to push myself creatively, and I plan to use it in editorial photo-shoots and exhibitions.”

The outrageous costumes of pop stars such as Lady Gaga, Nicky Minaj and Katy Perry have caught her eye: “I can see an outlet for my creativity here – I’d really like to be involved in that industry. It would be a dream – and it is a goal – to design and create costume pieces for their shows and photo-shoots.” Asked to describe herself in one word, she comes up with “focused”. So keep an eye on those concerts and music videos – we’re betting that you’ll be seeing Claire Prebble’s handiwork there any day now.
