This year’s fashion calendar ended with a blazing bang on December 5 as The Fashion Awards, in partnership with Swarovski, saw a glittering roster of the global A-list flock to London’s Royal Albert Hall to celebrate the world’s biggest talents in fashion.
Swarovski’s official red carpet reporter, the effervescent Jean Paul Gaultier, was there to greet Lady Gaga, Kate Moss, Jared Leto, Naomi Campbell, David Beckham, Jaden Smith, Anna Wintour and Swarovski’s brand ambassador Karlie Kloss, as they ascended the dramatic red-carpeted steps. A highlight was his exclusive interview with Gigi Hadid: coolly dressed as “Donatella’s ice princess”, she shone under the golden light of a giant crystallized sun created by Fredrikson Stallard using 8,000 hand-hung Swarovski crystals, so it came as no surprise when she won the International Model award later that night.
Other winners included: Franca Sozzani, who was recognized for her humanitarian work with the first Swarovski Award for Positive Change; Simone Rocha, British Womenswear Designer; Craig Green, British Menswear Designer; Molly Goddard, British Emerging Talent; Ralph Lauren, Outstanding Achievement; and Jaden & Willow Smith, New Fashion Icon.
