Those fortunate enough to enjoy Berlin Fashion Week at the end of last month were treated to some sparkling sensations at the gorgeous Vogue Salon Soirée in partnership with Swarovski. Le dernier mot in high-fashion glossies partnered with Swarovski to gift half a dozen brilliant labels the opportunity to showcase some breathtaking creations.
Hosted by Vogue Germany’s Editor-in-Chief, Christiane Arp, and Nadja Swarovski, the impressive band of leading-edge designers included Galvan, Marina Hoermanseder, Dawid Tomaszewski, René Storck, Augustin Teboul and Michael Sontag. Between them, they showed off a stunning selection of funky, minimalist, feminine, luxurious and distinctly rock-‘n’-roll innovations.
Visitors relished Michael Sontag’s sculptural works of art, featuring a scattering of Swarovski crystals, while Dawid Tomaszewski’s painstakingly hand-stitched garments shimmered with opulence. German/French designer duo Augustin Teboul created strong, feminine silhouettes with crystals cunningly woven into the fabric. The German-Icelandic-American-Swiss label Galvan, whose celebrity devotees include Gwyneth Paltrow and Rihanna, displayed clean lines with crystals adding a color-intensive effect, while Marina Hoermanseder’s beautiful bodices and corsets find favor with Lady Gaga. Finally, skilled tailor René Storck used crystals to add a touch of excitement to his basic minimalist approach.
