The fourteenth edition of the International Talent Support (ITS) competition shows that the rising generation of fashion stars is burning more brilliantly than ever. As the global platform for the industry’s most exciting new talent, all eyes were on the ITS Fashion Show, the ITS FASHION Award 2015 finalists’ sparkling finale, which took place in Trieste on July 14.
The line-up of talented young finalists included Quoï Alexander and Kim Shui from the US, while Canada and Ireland were represented by Christine Charlebois and Polina Yakobson, respectively. Richard Quinn flew the fashion flag for the UK; Jenifer Thévenaz-Burdet for Switzerland; Paula Knorr for Germany; Attila Lajos for Hungary; and Elina Määttänen for Finland. Meanwhile, Japan’s Yuko Koike and South Korea’s Yunseo Choi demonstrated why the East is currently a hotbed of dazzling creativity. From futuristic color blocking to monochrome severity, intricate ethnic knitwear to sleek tailoring, and swan-like ruffles to exuberant floral fantasy, as their designs hit the runway, we knew we’d had a privileged preview of the future of fashion.
