EVENT THIS SPORTING LIFE

Wherever you find yourself this spring, there’s plenty reason to get out there and have some energetic fun. Check these out for just a few of the possibilities: a female surfing competition in Australia; dancing under the stars to this year's hottest bands in the Coachella Valley desert, California; the famous Indian Wells tennis tournament next door; trying out telemark skiing in the Italian Alps.

Roxy Pro Gold Coast Women's Surfing Championship Tour

When: February 28–March 11, 2015

Where: Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia

What to do: Join the spectators and cheer on the leading ladies of the surf as they break old records and hit new heights. The surfing community is famously inclusive and laidback, so tune into their permanently-on-vacation vibe, and revel in surf, sun and sand.

Who to see: Australian Stephanie Gilmore is the reigning six-times world champion; this year she’ll be competing to match the current world record of seven consecutive titles set by Australian Lane Beachley in 2006.

What to wear: Down under it's summer and it's HOT, so all you'll need is an exotic Sauvage Pompeii one-piece with hand placed multicolor Swarovski crystals that shimmer beautifully in the sun, and you'll be enjoying the waves just as much as the pros.

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival

When: April 10-12, and April 17-19, 2015

Where: Indio, California

What to do: Party with the beautiful peaceniks and California dreamers as you dance the night away, flying from one stage to the next to catch the newest sounds from bands hotter than the desert heat. Be sure to cool off at one of the many pool after-parties, such as the infamous all-weekend affair at Palm Springs' Ace Hotel.

Who to see: They’re all there—heavy-hitmakers Azaelia Banks, Drake and Interpol; new kids on the block FKA Twigs, War on Drugs, Panda Bear, St. Vincent and Caribou; and old-school favorites Belle & Sebastian, Steely Dan, Bad Religion and Jack White. There’s literally something for everyone.

What to wear: Add sparkle to your VIP wristbands with La Hola crochet bracelets and tame those tresses in a Jane Tran headband. And don the new Swarovski Shine activity tracker to see just how hard you actually partied.

BNP Paribas Open (aka Indian Wells 2015)

When: March 9–22, 2015

Where: Indian Wells, California

What to do: Catch the must-see matches, sizzling under the desert sun. Take a break from the clay-court competition for some retail therapy in Palm Springs’ famous high-modern boutiques and Hollywood-deco antique shops.

Who to see: Serena Williams announced that this year she will make her long awaited return to this huge event on the world tennis calendar, second only to the Grand Slams. It will be only the second time she’ll have played the fixture since winning it in 2001, so be there to witness it.

What to wear: Stay cool in whites—go head to toe in traditional Lacoste topped off with a shiny new Victoria watch sparkling with Swarovski crystals. Now that's a doubles team to beat.

La Skieda XXI, Telemark Ski Festival

When: March 21–28, 2015

Where: Livigno, Italy

What to do: Pack your own or rent a pair of telemark skis, take a lesson from an Italian ski instructor, and hit the slopes. Join the festivities high up in the mountain lodges or down in the village of Livigno late into the night. Wrap up in a down jacket and make tracks night-skiing under a full moon.

Who to see: In the spirit of the festival and its roots, everyone is celebrated. The only competition is between you and the mountain.

What to wear: Block out the glare of the Alpine sun with Jimmy Crystal New York 'Cece' sunglasses, and toss a Rodarte jacket over your shoulders to stay snug and stylish during après-ski.
