The Champagne flowed last month in Paris as the winners of the 25th ANDAM award—the most prestigious international fashion prize around—were announced.
Founded in 1989 by Nathalie Dufour, ANDAM (Association Nationale pour le Développement des Arts de la Mode) prides itself on championing burgeoning talents in contemporary fashion design. It offers them the game-changing chance of a runway show during Paris Fashion Week, as well as an incredible opportunity to develop their label in France. Thanks to its numerous sponsors, including Swarovski, ANDAM is the jumping-off point for some stellar careers, with notable past winners including Giles Deacon, Viktor&Rolf and Maison Martin Margiela.
Twenty-five jury members met on July 3 and awarded The Grand Prize of €250,000 to bold Dutch designer Iris Van Herpen for her futuristic, sculptural womenswear collection.
The First Collections Prize of €75,000 was given to Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant’s budding fashion brand, Coperni Femme, who impressed with their streamlined and sophisticated pieces.
