Swarovski Innsbruck’s Chamber of Wonder was the venue for an exclusive unveiling of The Monument on March 21, the incredible new installation by Swedish designer and Royal College of Art graduate, Hilda Hellström.
I take pleasure in telling stories about my works, which makes it easier to engage with them.
Guests were taken on a journey of discovery that used three different means of expression: video, sound and sculpture. From mountain peaks to valleys and pastures, the designer fused fact with fiction to immerse awe-struck visitors in her mystical story of crystal and its landscape, presenting crystal in the context of its magical Tyrolean homeland.
Since its grand reopening in 2011, Swarovski Innsbruck has housed its own chamber, based on the one at Swarovski Kristallwelten and inspired by the historic chambers of wonders that traditionally displayed art and science’s most bizarre and beautiful objects. If you’re visiting the town, drop by Swarovski Innsbruck in Herzog-Friedrich-Strasse and experience the journey before it closes next year.
